Photo #194/365: Snowballs in Summer

I saw a lot of these shrubs when I was in Minneapolis. We have them in Iowa, too, but the flowers were so big and lush in Minnesota. I didn't know what they were, but they look like snowballs to me. I Googled it, and sure enough, it's called a Snowball Bush. They are also called Viburnum shrubs.

These beautiful blooms are on a Weigela bush at my sister's house. They have several shrubs in various colors, but I liked the deep pink of this one. I also like the lush rich color of the surrounding foliage.

Today was one of those evenings that I didn't even get home until 9:00. I am so ready for summer vacation.
