Every year I order a dozen of each color marker to last us all school year. If we take care of them and put the caps on carefully, they will last all the way until June. Here is our marker supply for the 2011-2012 school year. Take good care of them, kids!

Today I went into my classroom to work for a few hours. I moved desks, put away supplies, and started rearranging my classroom library. Don't you just love stacks of brand new school supplies? I sure do. Maybe that's why I'm a teacher.

Photo #235: Which of These Folders Is Not Like the Other Ones?

Today was my first day back at school. The kids don't come until Thursday. I took some photos of our first staff meeting of the year, but I forgot my camera on my desk. Instead of trying to go back to school, I decided to use my phone and find a photo on my trip to Walmart. When I was in the school supply section, these folders caught my eye. I find it rather disturbing that Marilyn Monroe is being marketed right beside cute puppies, Wonder Woman, and Toy Story. Who do they think their potential purchaser will be?

Photo #218: Pencil Bags

I'm not a big shopper, but today I went shopping for school supplies. I was delighted to find composition notebooks for only 25 cents each at Target, and the two pocket folders with the prongs for 15 cents each at Staples. These colorful pencil bags at Target caught my eye.

The big ouch was buying new ink cartridges for my printer. I always go through a lot of ink this time of year. I make name tags, locker tags, and all kinds of labels with student names, on my computer.
