Photo #204: What's For Dinner?

This is my sister's cat, Tiger. Here is one of her favorite places to take a nap. The birds can get some dinner, and be dinner.

Photo #199: Mama Raccoon

I picked up my mom and we went out to have dinner at my sister's house. It was just the three of us, because my brother-in-law and nephews are at "The Island" in the Canadian wilderness. My sister had business commitments and could not go.

My sister and her family live out in the country, in a house surrounded by trees and wildlife. She also has two dogs and five cats. As soon as she fed the cats, this mama raccoon came and commandeered their dishes. My sister put out food three times to be certain that the cats and the raccoon had enough to eat. When there was no cat food left, the raccoon went up and over the house to check out the bird feeders in front. She is very hungry because she is nursing babies. It was all very entertaining.

Photo #144: Evie and Beguira

Jacci just got up to get a cup of tea, and the cats took over her chair and the table. This is Evie in the chair, and Beguira on the table. They love sitting with us when we have a campfire.

Photo #103: Shirkahn

This is Shirkahn, one of my sister's five cats. This is a lot of cats for someone who has been allergic to cats since she was a little girl. Shirkahn's Mama arrived at Jacci's house one winter, had her five babies, and disappeared a few weeks later. She knew a soft touch when she saw one. She knew that my sister and her family would take good care of her kittens. And they have. Donner built them a cat condo under the deck, but they like the garage better, and why wouldn't they? They have heated mats in that garage, with a cat door to get in and out.

As soon as I laid down on the ground to photograph some flowers, Shirkahn came right over to check me out. He was right in my face. Even so, he managed to look aloof when I tried to take his picture.
