There were lots of baskets with colorful flowers at the Hy-Vee Garden Center. Today's trip was just to look, but these would look great hanging on my porch.
There is beauty all around us. We just need to take the time to notice the richness in our lives. These are the many things for which I am grateful.

Photo #120/365: Hanging Baskets
There were lots of baskets with colorful flowers at the Hy-Vee Garden Center. Today's trip was just to look, but these would look great hanging on my porch.
Photo #119/365: The Garden Center
It was a beautiful day today with temperatures in the mid sixties, and lots of sunshine. I spent some time cleaning out one of my flowerbeds, and then stopped by the Hy-Vee Garden Center. I was looking at the annuals, but I never put any in until after May 10th. My grandma gave me this advice years ago, and I always follow it.
Unfortunately tragedy befell me while I was in the garden center. I dropped my camera and broke it. I ended up taking this picture with my phone.

Photo #92/365: Sure Sign of Spring
There aren't any plants here yet, but the fence and shelters are up. They're already stocking up on soil and mulch. When Hy-Vee sets up their greenhouse, that's a sure sign of spring.

Photo #56/365: Smile!
My photo for the day came from Hy-Vee again. I was immediately drawn to this cheerful display when I walked past the Hy-Vee Floral Shop. You can't help but smile with all this yellow and the happy faces. It was a bright spot on a cold dreary and now snowy day.

Photo #298: Gourds
It's been a really horrible day. I had to put my sweet Zoe to sleep today. I will write about her tomorrow, but I'm not up to it just yet. Once again I snapped a shot at Hy-vee. I saw this box of colorful gourds when I was on my way out of the store.

Photo #266: Pumpkins
I've been struggling lately, trying to find a good photo. Once again, I found my shot at Hy-Vee, my nearby grocery store. I love the colors of autumn. A few days ago I photographed all the chrysanthemums that were sitting in front of the store. Today the pumpkins had arrived. I snapped this photo in the rain.

Photo #231: Hy-Vee Flowers
The Daily Shoot for today was to take a photo of something you eat, and make it look appetizing. Unfortunately, I didn't read that until after I had finished my dinner, and to be honest it wasn't that great. I decided to go up to Hy-Vee for one of their steak dinners. I've gone before, and it's been pretty good. It runs from 4 to 7. I would suggest you go closer to 4:00, because things were pretty dried out by 6:45. Instead, I took a photo of these yellow flowers that were on each table. It's kind of difficult to add ambiance to a grocery store cafe.
