The day after Thanksgiving is known as a great shopping day. We started out the day by going out to breakfast to the Birchwood Cafe, buying studded tires for Lisa and Colin's bikes, and Going to the TeaSource for Black Tea Friday.
There is beauty all around us. We just need to take the time to notice the richness in our lives. These are the many things for which I am grateful.

Photo #206/365: New Purse
I love a good bargain, but I don't go shopping very often. That's why this past weekend was so unusual. Not only did I go to one mall, I went to two. I still went with a plan and on a budget.
The summer bag I have used for the past three years, broke at the end of last summer, so I have continued carrying my winter bag. I've been keeping my eyes open for something to replace it. That's why I was very pleased when I found this bag on the sale table at Dillard's for only $15.99. It isn't what I would usually choose, but now that I've carried it for a few days, I'm really starting to like it.

Photo #205/365: Soft Pretzel

I am really sick of the hot weather, and while it isn't as hot today as it has been during the past week, it is way too hot for my taste. With the heat and humidity, I have no interest in spending time outdoors, so I went to the mall today. I hadn't been there in a while, but I went with a specific task in mind. While I was there, I had to stop at Aunt Annie's for a soft pretzel. I just like the original with a little bit of salt. I really need to find a recipe so I can make my own, because $2.96 for this little bit of dough is too much, in my opinion. They are good though!

Photo #192/365: Shopping My Way to Minneapolis
I am not one of those travelers who drives non-stop to their destination, intent on making good time. I stop along the way. In fact, I stop a lot, and one of my stops is usually at the Preferred Outlet Mall at Medford, which is about fifty miles south of Minneapolis. I always stop there to pick up my yearly supply of shower gel and body lotion at Bath and Body Works. You really can't beat 75% off of regular price. I picked up this entire bag of gel, lotion, and handsoap for just $19. Boy am I going to smell good!

Today was supposed to be my work day, since I spent most of yesterday celebrating my birthday. I did do some laundry, and worked on report cards very briefly, and then I went shopping. I suppose I could blame it on my dear sister, because she gave me a gift certificate to Kohl's for my birthday. I can always find something I like at Kohl's. I ended up with clothes, but not until after I enjoyed spending time in the housewares. I love the colorful dishes, towels, and linens. These bright cheery placemats, really caught my eye.
