Today was the second work day for teachers, followed by open house from five to seven. I spent today getting the last of the bulletin boards up, labeling the mailboxes, setting up the lunch chart, and taking care of the many other things that teachers do at the beginning of the year. This is a photo of my room about ten minutes before parents and students began to arrive. I was able to meet 26 of my 28 students and their families. Everyone is excited for school to begin.
At this point the room is ready, but I don't have a clue what we will be doing that first day. Fortunately we have one more teacher work day. Please let the morning meeting be short.
