Castles from Past Years

We have begun our castle project for 2012.  I have done this project with students for more than ten years.  Here are just a few of the castles from the past few years.

Early Chive

Everything is blooming way ahead of schedule this year, including the chive.

Spring Concert

Tuesday evening was our Spring Concert.  We held it at Goodrell, which is much more comfortable than the Phillips gym.  I really enjoyed hear the kids play the drums.

Socks With a Pattern

I have started my second pair of socks.  These will have a pattern.

Checking Out the Historical Building

We took our field trip to the Iowa Historical Building on April 5th.  We had a great time.  I made little minibooks called Pocketmods for the kids to take notes in.  You can make one yourself at Pocketmod.com.  Kids examined the exhibits and took notes.

Others tried to become part of the exhibits.

Time to Play Catch Up

I haven't posted a photo in two weeks, so I'm going to place catch up during the next few day.  Instead of making multiple posts, I'm going to post several photos on each.

Two weeks ago I dropped by the Adventureland Inn to meet to Flickr and Twitter friends face to face.  They had brought all the kids from their school for a competition.  Denise Krebs and Kristine Full both teach at Spaulding Catholic Schools in Granville, Iowa.

My coworker, Joni, is a graduate of that school.

This is my twenty-second year as a teacher at Phillips.  While I have not purchase a school shirt every year, I have purchased quite a few over the years.  Recently two of the PTA moms asked me if I would photograph my shirts.  They were looking for ideas for future shirts.  I have to admit, even I was surprised by how many I have acquired over the years.
